This momentary surge current or voltage will affect and damage the solar street light equipment, so the lightning protection work of the solar street light It must be done well in advance, which can effectively avoid unnecessary damage caused by solar street lights in the event of lightning strikes.
The lightning protection work of solar smart street lights is different from that of ordinary street lights, mainly because the response speed of solar street lights is much faster than that of ordinary street lights, and the voltage bearing capacity is naturally smaller than that of ordinary street lights. In open areas, high mountain areas and areas where thunderstorms often occur, lightning protection methods are particularly important. The lightning protection design of solar street lights can take preventive measures from three aspects.
1. Anti-direct lightning strike: In order to prevent lightning from directly hitting the pole body of the solar street light, the pole body needs to be made into a lightning receptor, so that the lightning can be directly directed to itself when lightning strikes, and the direct lightning discharge can be undertaken.
2. Grounding: This is the most common and most effective method. Grounding is to prevent electric shock or protect the safety of equipment and use the pole itself as a leakage fluid, and use the earth as the current loop grounding wire. Generally, the ground network should be based on the local geological soil. Make sure that the grounding resistance should be less than 10 ohms. In addition, the circuit system of the solar street light should also be grounded at an appropriate location.
3. Circuit: Install special solar lightning arrester. The lightning protection device is mainly designed according to the power supply voltage of the solar street light. During the lightning weather, the circuit of the solar street light will generate a surge voltage or surge current through electrostatic induction or electromagnetic induction, which will affect the LED solar street light equipment. The special lightning protection device for solar street lights can protect the surge voltage of the power supply line and avoid large-scale lightning damage to the solar street lights in the same area.
